Homemade Taco Seasoning

Buying ready packages of spice seasonings in the store is very handy, however, with today’s food industry most of them has added sugar, excess amount of salt and other additives. I will always recommend that you read the label before buying something so you feel comfortable with the ingredients. Finding a Mexican spice mixes without sugar is far from easy, even some of the ones in our health food stores has added sweetener.
So what’s the best way to go around it when you fancy Mexican for dinner? Make your own! It’s so simple and you can easily double the recipe and store your mix in a jar for future use.

Today I used my seasoning with turkey mince but you can use other proteins as well. I recommend you to add some water after you seasoned the cooked mince and let it cook on low heat a bit longer. This will help the spices to really blend together with the meat. When the water has resolved, add a squeeze of lime.
