Next chapter – Holistic Health Coach

After having that light bulb moment a few years ago about what my true passion really is, I have been searching for the right pathway for my future. I wanted to find a way to turn my passion into a career that is fulfilling, challenging, exciting and that makes me jump out of bed in the morning. I knew I wanted to work with people and help others find their way to a healthier lifestyle, but couldn’t figure out exactly how.

The big question was, what could my title be? I wasn’t able to fully visualise what I wanted, and I wasn’t sure what I was working towards, or what was needed to get there. The first step I took was to become a Sports & Nutrition advisor. Second step was becoming a qualified Personal trainer. I thought by getting into the fitness industry I might be able to see things clearer. At the start everything felt amazing and I knew I was on the right track, but after a while I realised that something was missing. I tried to visualise the route I could work towards in the fitness industry and it didn’t really excite me. So it was time to rethink.

I started to use all my time and energy to find the answer. I tried everything from brain storming with friends, looking up possible careers in the industry, finding inspiration from role models of mine etc. I even considered keeping my passion just a hobby and building a career in another industry. Honestly, it was exhausting and overwhelming. After a few months I ended up with 2 options. Nutritionist or Holistic health coach. I took my time to value the pros and coins of both, and finally decided to go for Holistic Health Coach.

So you might wonder, why? As much as I have a geeky interested in micronutrients, mitochondria and the breakdown of food, my interest covers more than nutrition. Other topics that have always interested me is the rising global health crisis, the consumption of packaged and processed food, importance of gut health and habits around how we eat. I figured that I can still help others without the deep knowledge of a nutritionist. Instead I wanted to focus on the everyday person, like my sisters, my girlfriends or my colleagues, who just need basic guidance and support in finding their way to a healthier lifestyle. Basically, what I needed when I first got into wellness and fitness.

My mission in becoming a Holistic Health coach is to inspire, educate, support and guide anyone who is ready to make a change in their life. I believe in focusing on all areas from nutrition, exercising, creating new habits, setting priorities (and making yourself one!) and so on. In this journey I hope to become the best version of myself, so that I can inspire others to do the same. Creating a ripple effect that will change how we are living today. With that as my goal, the IIN was the obvious course to sign up for.

I will share the new knowledge from this year ahead and I would love to know if there are any particular topics that you want me to cover. Also, I have already started planning potential goals in the future and I can’t even describe how excited it makes me feel. I have finally found my way back to what ignites my fire! Stay tuned for what’s coming next.
