Homemade Golden Milk

Recently tried golden milk for the first time and it was love at first sight. This yummy warm drink does not only heat you up from the inside with the lovely spices but also comes with health benefits. Both turmeric and ginger has lots to offer, especially during flu season. Turmeric milk says to help the immune system, give relief from cough & cold and also good for your digestive. It also been known for years that drinking warm milk before bedtime will help your sleep.

The recipe is normally made with coconut milk but I prefer mine with almond milk. It is a very quick and simple drink to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of milk by choice (almond, coconut)
  • ½ tsp of turmeric
  • 1 chopped piece of ginger around 1 cm square
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp of honey (optional)

Put all the ingredients in a blender and give it a good mix. Put in a sauce pan on low heat until it is warm. Done! So simple.
Tips: make sure it doesn’t go to boil due to some milks can separate at higher heat but also you want to keep the nutrition benifts.
